Baan Rim Naam is the last remaining warehouse from the early 18th century King Rama II Period. The 200 year old historic warehouse and its adjacent compound of spacious sheds and a garden is located in Taladnoi, the southern part of Bangkok's bustling Chinatown district. The former wharf sits along the picturesque Chao Phraya river Bank between the Saphan Taksin bridge and the Memorial bridge. The compound recently has been converted from a labour accomodation into a contemporary happening space which opens its doors each Friday, Saturday and Sunday with a dense program of activities and culinary offerings.
The team behind Baan Rim Naam is happily welcoming guests Thursday until Monday serving snacks, drinks and our signature Meet&Greet dinner. The vegetables and herbs are sourced from our garden and the meals are changing on a seasonal basis. Our signature homemade cocktails make for a great sunset drink. (Each weekend we are offering a variety of activities such as a flea market, live bands, movie screenings and workshops.)
What started as an informal dining experience about eight years ago in our living room grew into the now acclaimed Nang Gin Kui Meet&Greet dinner. We are hosting dinners 3 evenings a week for up to 12 guests, happily serving a multi course dinner set menu including mocktail and cocktail pairing. You are welcome between 5 and 6 pm for a sunset drink while meeting and chatting up your fellow guests. The courses flow from Thai Tapas to classic coconut soups, tasty curries and yummy desserts. For more information about the Meet&Greet dinner please head over to our Airbnb Page here.
“Amazing” would not even cut it - it was one of my best nights in Bangkok. Tucked away in a back alley, Florian opened up a pocket of heaven along the river with his warm hospitality. The food was delicious and the space was wonderful - was a great space for great conversation and was inspiring to get to know his family and the passion for food, Thailand and hospitality. I would book this the next time I’m back!!
“A wonderful setting along the river"
A wonderful setting along the river in a old Thai warehouse. The food is superb and Florian is a very knowledgeable and engaging host! For a change of pace, this is place to go!!!!
"This is a must do when you're in Bangkok"
Florian was the perfect host while Goy lead the kitchen team to produce an excellent culinary experience. If that's not enough, the venue and setting is priceless. This is a must do when you're in Bangkok.
We are so happy that we have the chance to create an "Urban Farm" in close collaboration with the NIA and the Yip In Soi Company. Over the last few months we were able to plant a variety of herbs and spices which we are integrating into our menus. We even have bananas, mangoes and recently planted 2 Avocado trees.
Throughout the year we are opening our doors for special events, either a religious offering to the spirit of the river, the Bangkok Design Week or a music festival - Baan Rim Naam is flexible and gladly welcomes any special event ideas.
"This is a pretty special Experience, hosted expertly by Florian and Goy at one of the most unique venues I’ve seen in Bangkok. Once you get off the taxi, walk the last 200 meters and see what they’ve done with the space, it comes as a delightful surprise! We ran a big event at this space, and Florian and Goy were able to easily manage food & drink for a pretty large group. Looking forward to coming back for many special social dinners at this venue!"

After almost 8 years of running the quirky "Nang Gin Kui - Bangkok Private Dining' out of there living room in Bangkok's Chinatown, Goy Siwaporn and Florian Gypser took on the intriguing project of developing one of the last remaining ancient warehouses of the old town. Enthusiastic about so many facets of this amazing chance and with full support by the community Goy, a PR & Marketing expert and Florian, an Austrian architect and designer started renovation in April 2018. Throughout the early months the two relied on their existing kitchen team and are currently testing a range of culinary concepts. By the end of 2018 the house already hosted several dinner parties and events and in January 2019 has been co-hosting the successful Bangkok Design Week. Visit Florian's design studio here www.floriangypser.com and have a wonderful time at Baan Rim Naam!
